Artificial intelligence is changing the world, but not always fairly. Algorithms can reproduce bias, gender bias above all, with real consequences for people and organisations.

Meritxell Bautista speaks about it as a business leader. She founded Xarxalia, an applied-AI company that builds agents and automations, and is executive chair of Manix Capital, a group that develops in-house technology and AI engines. In 2025 she co-authored, with Karina Gibert and other experts, the Beijing+30 Forum report on responsible AI and gender bias, published by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and took part in its dialogue on data, algorithms and bias.

In March 2026 she gave the keynote at the Catalan Consumer Agency on women, emotion and power in the age of hyper-personalisation.
